Blue Iris Yoga specializes in slow-flow-strength yoga, functional yoga, and restorative yoga — in addition to guided meditation and breathing exercises.

Classes are created to be mini-events with the goal of calming the mind, building physical and mental strength, and re-setting the nervous system. They are accompanied by carefully chosen soft, instrumental music and always include a long savasana (a long held resting “pose”) at the end of each class so the body can let go, rest, and restore.

Classes through Blue Iris Yoga are an experience that can be undertaken during all of life’s stages and seasons. Through celebration and sorrow, health and sickness, beginnings and endings, it is possible to do yoga by nurturing our bodies, exactly as they are today — no changes needed.

Frances, who has been a practitioner of yoga for over two decades and completed holistic teacher training at the Asheville Yoga Center, creates and leads Blue Iris classes. Previously, she worked as a singer songwriter and writes music for relaxation. Additionally, she is a parent of a young adult who is an artist, a caretaker for a parent braving brain cancer, loves flowers and all furry creatures, and is a true chocolate enthusiast.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions about one-on-one classes, group classes, retreats, fundraisers for non-profits, volunteer classes to aid those in need, or any other yoga event!
